The Rapala Countdown Elite lure series has a few differences compared to the classic Countdown.  Cosmetically, they have a higher back profile and are slightly narrower in their body profile.  With a slightly denser body, means that the elite sinks faster than the standard Countdowns.

Sinks faster but thanks to its unique body design and weighting, the Elite actually has an enticing flutter when it sinks.  It also has a heavy duty through wire construction.

Rapala have put major emphasis on these construction changes and have tested the strength of the  construction to destruction process!  Rapalas tests indicate that the Countdown Elite can deal with a pull force of 60-70kg - which is beyond belief for a lure of its size!  An aerodynamic body profile is designed to aid maximum casting distance.  The new bill design also allows you to retrieve the lure extremely quick without the lure blowing out and losing its action.
