Hardy Ultradisc UDLA Cassette Fly Reel

Hardy's 'new' Ultradisc Cassette Reel, features a lightweight frame design, built-in line guard to protect thin running lines and a full disc drag system for some serious fish stopping power.  A large arbour design allows for a much higher line pick up rate, which is beneficial when playing fish on the reel and preventing slack line from occurring.

Changing spools is quick and easy thanks to the reintroduction of the popular CLS locking system.  Cassette reels used to be the preserve of the stillwater and reservoir fisher, carrying a multitude of sinking lines but the introduction of a #4/5 model in the range as well as a #9/11 now opens up so many possibilities for river fishers, pike fishers and salmon fishers alike.

The Hardy Ultradisc Cassette benefits from a full disc drag system that will provide you with ample resistance when trying to stop long powerful runs.  An adjustable drag knob helps you increase your drag in fine increments, to set your desired amount of resistance, required in that moment.  With the feature of no drag pressure to the maximum drag setting in one full turn, preventing you from having to continuously crank up the drag at a crucial moment when trying to land a hard fighting fish.
