The American Opossum has light fur, ranging from light sand to pure white. The hair is very shiny with the guard hairs having dark tips. This makes for good dubbing for many types of flies. It is very popular for Danish saltwater shrimp patterns, due to its translucency. Also popular for salmon flies, when cut into slim zonker strips.
